Hair fall is a very common issue that affects millions around the world.  When it gets aggravated, one can notice hair thinning or bald patches. Hormonal changes, stress, pollution, unhealthy diet can cause hair fall.

Whenever you start noticing your hair start falling, you get panic and get confused. So, prevention is better than cure. Make sure you eat a healthy and balanced diet which provides all essential nutrients to improve your hair growth and modification of life style to arrest hair fall.

Prevention and Cure

  • Drink minimum of 10 glass of water intake daily will help to reduce hair fall.
  • Do not shower often with hot water as it removes the essential oil content from your scalp. So reduce the time of the shower in hot water instead you can use warm water.
  • Avoid exposure of your hair to direct sun light as the heat damages the hair follicles. Use hat or umbrella when you go out.
  • Reduce stress as it is also a cause for hair fall. Calm yourself listening to music, doing yoga, meditation and relax yourself by chatting with family and friends. Keep away from social media at least for an hour.
  • Iron deficiency lead to hair loss. To gain iron content to your body, include cereals, soybeans, pumpkin seeds, white beans, lentils, spinach, oysters, clams etc., in your diet.
  • Include fresh fruits and vegetables which are rich in zinc, vitamin A, B complex, vitamin C, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids and proteins. They moisturize your hair, leading to healthy scalp; reduce split ends and lesser hair fall.
  • Trim split ends on your hair at least once in a month to avoid breakage.
  • Avoid frequent use of chemical treatments, like hair bleaching, hair straightening, perming etc., and excessive blow drying also leads to hair fall.
  • Henna is a natural hair conditioner. Henna leaves are grinded into a fine paste which is dried in shadow for a week. Once dried, it becomes like a cake which is added to Idhayam sesame oil and boiled. It is then cooled and filtered and the oil can be used for hair strengthening.
  • Hibiscus flower along with sesame oil nourishes hair and prevent hair fall. Dry hibiscus flowers and boil with Idhayam sesame oil; cool and filter it and apply on hair in regular basis.
  • Eggs are rich in protein, minerals like selenium, iodine, phosphorous, iron, zinc and sulphur. Eggs are excellent promoter to regain hair growth. Take the white of one egg and mix it with one teaspoon of lemon juice and one teaspoon of Idhayam sesame oil. Beat it and apply to the entire scalp and hair. Keep it for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse it with cold water and mild shampoo.
  • Avoid using closed tooth comb and use wide-toothed comb to reduce hair breakage and hair fall while combing.
  • Hot oil treatment: Warm Idhayam sesame oil and gently massage your scalp with your fingers.  Leave it for an hour and rinse it with shikakai or mild shampoo. Idhayam sesame oil has high penetrating ability and it increases the blood circulation and help in regaining hair growth.
